Manitou Springs Pikes Peak Cog Railroad

There are many attractions in the Pikes Peak area, and one of the best is the Manitou Springs Pikes Peak Cog Railroad.

Pikes Peak, at an elevation of 14,110 feet is Colorado's most famous and popular mountain. It is where the song "America the Beautiful" was inspired and written about. The summit can be accessed by road, hiking trails, and the Cog Railway.

The train began taking passengers to the top of Pikes Peak in 1891, and has been operating consistently ever since. It is the highest railroad in Colorado, and the second highest in the world.

While on the train the conductor will share stories of history about the mountain, residents, and the train. It's a great way to learn some of the local Colorado history while enjoying some spectacular views.

The train is now open year round. It's a fantastic way to sit back and enjoy the beautiful Colorado scenery while being taken to the top of America's mountain, Pikes Peak, and learn some history while on your way to one of the most famous mountains in the United States.

There are a number of Manitou Springs Bed and Breakfast Inns you can lodge at while enjoying the train, as well as many other inns in Pikes Peak.

Many of our Bed and Breakfast Innkeepers can help you with finding the Pikes Peak Railway, and can assist in helping to make reservations as well.

So come experience a piece of Colorado history and beauty, and be a guest at our Colorado Bed and Breakfast Inns as well.
